Our Location

Miirkey Primary School is located in the heart of Miirkey Village, a vibrant and close-knit community spanning an area of 20 square kilometers with a population of over 100 people. Nestled along the banks of a river, the village offers a serene and picturesque environment that inspires learning and growth.

Miirkey Village is uniquely positioned between Dolow and Geedwayne District, with Luuq just a short distance away. This central location makes Miirkey the hub of the Dolow-Luuq corridor, serving as a vital link between these key areas. The Dolow-Luuq Highway passes directly through Miirkey, enhancing accessibility and connectivity for students, families, and visitors.

The village is known for its two distinct farming systems: irrigation farming along the riverbanks and rain-fed farming in the surrounding areas. This agricultural diversity not only sustains the local community but also enriches the learning experiences of our students, who often engage in projects related to farming and environmental conservation.
